1:1 Coaching

Picture

Are you drafting new work, or revising a manuscript? Do you want editorial, writing process and/or project management support along the way? 1:1 coaching might be for you. Check out these coaching services and programs available.

Who 1:1 Coaching works best for:
1:1 Coaching is designed for writers who are actively drafting or revising and want consistent editorial support and accountability throughout the process.
This is the perfect next step if you've completed a Getting Started or Book Foundation program and want to maintain your momentum. It's also ideal for writers who are deep in the work of their manuscript and need a trusted partner to help them navigate the challenges, celebrate the wins, and keep moving forward.
1:1 Coaching is typically available to returning clients who have already worked with Alissa in at least one previous coaching service or program—though exceptions can be made depending on your project and goals. If you're unsure whether this is the right fit, just ask during your Meet and Greet call.
What you’ll accomplish:
Writing doesn't have to feel overwhelming or isolating—and with 1:1 Coaching, it won't.
This program is built around your goals. Whether you're working to finish a first draft, tackle a major revision, polish your final pages, or navigate a tricky middle section, we'll break your big goals into achievable milestones and work together to make them happen.
Through regular submissions, personalized editorial feedback, coaching calls, and ongoing project management support, you'll make consistent forward progress on your manuscript. No more spinning your wheels or wondering what to do next—you'll have a clear path and someone walking it with you.
Like all of Alissa's coaching programs, 1:1 Coaching focuses on the three Ps: your project (the story you're telling and why it matters), your pages (the craft and quality of your writing), and your process (how you work best and what keeps you moving forward).
By the end, you won't just have made progress—you'll have built momentum, confidence, and a deeper understanding of your own strengths as a writer.

1:1 Programs Information:
1:1 Coaching is structured around coaching blocks called deadlines. Each deadline is a complete cycle of feedback and planning, and it includes:
Your submission – Up to 20 pages of manuscript, an outline, craft exercises, or a combination (with Alissa's approval)
Alissa's editorial feedback – Detailed annotations on your pages plus a short editorial note highlighting what's working and what could be stronger
A coaching call – 30 to 45 minutes to discuss your submission, talk through the feedback, and plan your next steps
You can book deadlines individually, in pairs, or bundle several together for a discount—whatever matches your timeline and goals.
Timeline: Each deadline takes about two working weeks to complete, and submissions are always due on Mondays by noon. Here's how it flows:
Week 1, Monday by noon: You submit your pages or materials to Alissa
Week 2, Monday: Alissa returns your annotated work and editorial note
Week 2, later in the week: You and Alissa meet for your coaching call
This rhythm keeps you moving forward at a steady, sustainable pace—with built-in time to write, reflect, and plan between each round of feedback.
1 deadline:
This service is intended to help returning writers troubleshoot a particular issue in their work, or for writers to add on additional deadlines beyond what’s included their coaching program.

Investment:
2 working weeks. $275.

2 deadline bundle:
This service bundle is intended for writers who want the support of 1:1 coaching but who don’t want to commit to a longer program.

Investment:
4 working weeks. $500.

6 Deadline 1:1 Coaching Program:
This program is for writers who are ready to make serious, sustained progress on their manuscript—and who want dedicated support to get there.
Over the course of six deadlines, you'll work closely with Alissa to move your project forward with consistency and clarity. You'll receive detailed editorial feedback on your pages, thoughtful guidance during coaching calls, and ongoing project management support to keep you on track.
What's included:
Six complete coaching deadlines – each with up to 20 pages submitted, annotated feedback, an editorial note, and a 30–45 minute coaching call
A personalized Writing Strategy Plan (exclusive to bundles of 4+ deadlines) that maps out your process, goals, and next steps
Email support between deadlines so you're never stuck wondering what to do next
This bundle is designed for writers who are committed to finishing what they've started—and who know that having the right support makes all the difference.
Investment:
12 working week. $1400.
