Interested in an individualized learning experience?
Connect with Alissa now.
Alissa offers independent experiences curated especially for individual writers.  Topics explored can be anything from learning about the writing process, setting up a sustainable writing practice, the mechanics of grammar, or a deep dive into a writing topic you'd like to know more about.

These experiences are self-guided and asynchronous. You'll receive curated learning packets with exercises, craft instruction, resources and more to help you engage with the topics that matter most to you.

An individual learning experience is great for writers of any ability who are looking for more individualized instruction on an element of craft and who want to work at their own pace.

Please note that unlike book/writing coaching or group classes, individual learning experiences do not include any feedback, notes or critique on your work.

Space for individual learning experiences is extremely limited.

I did a summer private tutorial with Alissa on the craft concepts of psychic distance and interiority.  She presented these concepts clearly with great examples and directed me to practice with helpful, imaginative exercises.  I’ve presented short fiction, poetry and personal essays in Alissa’s workshops.  Her feedback and leadership in encouraging my classmates to give me useful feedback, has improved my work in all of these areas. I consider her my mentor and after close to eight years, I still feel lucky to be studying and working with her.

I discovered that Alissa Butterworth is an immeasurably talented writer who is immensely graced and has exceptional teaching skills. She also treats her students like me consistently, respectfully, and compassionately, which always makes my time in her classes superb, which is why she offers such unique and extraordinary qualities.  I wanted to continue working with her because I learned much from Alissa’s writing classes.  The workshops I discovered were extraordinarily positive because she is exceptionally gifted and capable.
