The Home Writer’s Retreat initially began as Alissa's pandemic-era outreach program for creative folks whose classes, retreats and community groups were cancelled due to COVID. The goal was simple: each post would include a writing prompt, a dose of inspiration, and the occasional picture of Alissa's goofball dog Scout. The Home Writer’s Retreat quickly expanded to include a way for writers to connect with one another during lockdown and beyond. The project ran for months, eventually ending as the first waves of the pandemic did.

Alissa believes strongly that we all have a story to tell, and the right to tell it the best we know how. We all have a right to be inspired, to create, to dream and to share what comes of those dreams.
