I was sitting here reading through what I wrote earlier today, a chapter from Remy, rather a bit of a chapter, and in reading it I realized this: if nothing else, in my life, my writing life and my allotted-time-on-this-good-earth, I want to move someone to tears. Not because of something sad, but something beautiful. Because there's more glory in the second, but no shame in the first. And that's what Remy wants. That's what his father wanted. I think maybe it's what everyone wants.
Nothing commonplace about The Common Place.
